This study evaluates and compares two UNFCC projects in India and Tanzania aimed at reducing coastal vulnerability and empowering women. The impact is measured using an Asset Index and a Women Empowerment Index (WEI). Using Propensity Score Matching (PSM) and Endogenous Switching Regression (ESR), the study treats beneficiary households as the treatment group, with two control groups: non-beneficiary households from project villages and households from non-project villages. Baseline data from NGOs, government sources, and surveys are utilized, focusing on villages in Krishna district, India, and Kingamboni district, Tanzania. This research will assess the effectiveness of external funding on poverty and gender equality, and examine the adequacy of current coastal adaptation policies, providing insights for developing countries to learn from each other's experiences.
