New deadline for EfD's 2015 proposal submission is June 1, 2014. All proposals must be presented in the respective EfD Center Workshops before submission.
In the documents we submitted to Sida, we promised to guarantee internal peer-review of research proposals by EfD Centers. In view of this, it has become mandatory that research proposals are presented and discussed in the Centers before submitted on June 1, 2014. This is very crucial as proposals that are not presented and discussed in the respective EfD Centers will not be submitted to external anonymous reviewers.
This year, as stated in the call for proposals, the EfD Research fund will be allocated on a competitive basis, so presenting and refining research ideas at the center-level will significantly improve the quality of proposals and the chances of securing funding. Any researcher based at the EfD Centers can submit proposals to EfD Research Coordinator, Yonas Alem directly for consideration as long as the proposal has been presented at the center before submission and at least one of the collaborators has a PhD + three publications in international peer-reviewed journals. We are currently working on a mechanism to support and fund annual center research workshops where research proposals and draft papers will be discussed with relevant stakeholders.
Center coordinators and directors are asked to submit a list of proposals presented in the center EfD Workshop on June 1st.

Each section of the proposal must not exceed the page limits stated.
