The two core objectives of the project are: 1. To examine the factors that determine woody biomass and dung consumption as fuel sources. 2. To examine the factors that determine farmers’ adoption and intensity of use of dung as fertilizer.
It is expected that this research will contribute to the limited literature in developing countries in general and Ethiopia in particular by looking into the issues of use of biomass fuels and dung as fertilizer under conditions where there is market failure and poverty. The use of panel data and appropriate techniques of rigorous analysis for the issue is an additional contribution.
