After publishing "In the wake of COVID-19, academia needs new solutions to ensure gender equity", St. Mary's College of Maryland created a website addressing gender equity in academia.
Women in academia across the U.S. are advocating for solutions to women's advancement during COVID-19. The authors of the opinion article recognize that many female academics will bear a greater burden during COVID-19, especially women who face intersecting systems of oppression such as ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, gender, age, economic class, dependent statues, and/or ability (Malisch et al., 2020). The article proposes actionable solutions, which include the formation of a Pandemic Response Faculty Fellow or Pandemic Faculty Merit Committee (PFMC) as well as a format for new policies.
