The Environment for Development Initiative (EfD) has been accepted as a new GGKP Knowledge Partner by the GGKP Council members - the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), the Organisation of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and the World Bank.
The GGKP is a dynamic global network of researchers, development practitioners, and policy makers that identifies and addresses major knowledge gaps in green growth theory and practice. Through widespread consultation and world-class research, the GGKP aims to provide practitioners and policy makers with better analytical and policy tools to foster green growth and move towards an inclusive green economy. Knowledge Partners of the GGKP constitute a network of institutions interested in periodic exchanges about their respective work programs in the green growth space and, when mutually beneficial, collaboration on research and knowledge sharing activities. Knowledge Partners are also instrumental in fostering a green growth community of practice through contributions to the GGKP website,www.ggkp.org, and other outreach activities.
The motivation for the EfD partnership given by the GGKP Council was that “given EfD’s global network of research fellows and associates and its leadership in environmental economics research, training and policy advice, your organization will be a valuable partner and contributor to the growing body of green growth research and knowledge.” The EfD Director, Gunnar Köhlin, is very happy for this new partnership. “This is an important recognition of the capacity of EfD and provides our researchers with an excellent opportunity to reach out with their findings.”
