EfD researchers interviewed in the GU Journal

The most recent issue of the GU Journal, a magazine for employees of the University of Gothenburg, includes interviews with EfD fellows Elizabeth Robinson, Thomas Sterner, and Olof Johansson Stenman. They all give their views on the ongoing specialization courses in Environmental Economics. PhD candidate Justice Tei Mensah from Ghana, one of the 33 students from 15 countries attending the courses, is also interviewed.

As many as 33 students from 15 countries are attending the four Specialization courses in Environmental and Climate Economics from January to June 2014: Climate Modelling and Energy Systems, Natural Resource Economics , Policy Instruments Design, and Development Microeconomics.

These courses are given every other year as part of the Sida funded environmental economics capacity building program for sustainable development, which also includes a full PhD program in Global Change and Climate Economics and the Environment for Development initiative.

The lecturers come from 9 countries:

Academic training is fundamental for domestic capacity building in environmental economics, and therefore the EfD initiative supports national graduate programs in environmental economics at all EfD Centers.
