EfD Central America Director contributes to capacity building and a dialogue on the Economy of Climate Change in Costa Rica

EfD Central America Director, Francisco Alpizar held a keynote speech in the “Capacity building and dialogue on the economy of climate change” Program in Costa Rica hosted by The Central America Academy, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the United Nations Development Programme.

The Keynote presentation titled: Climate Change Adaptation: the role of government and Public Policies, focused on the importance of a systemic approach to decision making in the context of adaptation to Climate Change and challenged participants in to thinking outside the box in order to find solutions that are cost effective and equitable.

The audience included 30 officials of several government institutions such as Costa Rica´s Central Bank, Ministry of Finance, National Comptroller, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Agriculture, among others.

The Central America Academy is a private nonprofit research center, based in Costa Rica, its focus is on the promotion of research in the field of social sciences, particularly on policy.
