Job description

  • Work with senior researcher (Allen Blackman) on microeconomic analysis of environmental, natural resource, and climate change issues in Latin America and the Caribbean
  • Position begins spring-early summer 2024
  • One-year term with possibility of extension for a second year
  • Full-time (~40 hours per week)

PhD Scholarship in Sustainable Climate Policy - Carbon Pricing Instruments

A full-time PhD studentship to start in September 2024 at the Heriot-Watt University in Scotland. Studentships include a tuition fee waiver and an annual stipend. The School also offers a research support allowance to cover conferences,  courses, fieldwork, or other academic activities. In addition, full-time scholarship holders are normally offered an opportunity to undertake paid teaching support each academic year.

Project Coordinator, Environmental Policy Research Unit (EPRU) School of Economics, Cape Town

The Environmental Economics Policy Research Unit (EPRU) is a collaborative association of academic researchers specialising in environmental and natural resource issues. Members of EPRU include eleven researchers, 6 postdoctoral fellows and 14 PhD students, based in the School of Economics at the University of Cape Town. The unit is the South African centre of an international network, the Environment for Development initiative (EfD) and receives its core funding from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) as well as research funding from a variety of sources.
