Next week’s GES speaker will be Kelsey Jack, who is an Associate Professor at University of California, Santa Barbara. The seminar will take place on Zoom on Tuesday, March 29, at 15:05-16:00 (note the unusual time).

Kelsey does research in environmental and development economics, with a focus on how natural resources are used to provide public goods. She has published work in the American Economic Review, American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, Review of Economics and Statistics and many more. For more information about Kelsey’s research, visit her website here.

On Tuesday, Kelsey will present her work entitled Money (Not) to Burn: Payments for Ecosystem Services to Reduce Crop Residue Burning.

Kelsey will have some limited time after her seminar for individual meetings. She is available for meetings for one hour in total, so depending on interest we can make the meetings between 15 to 30 minutes long. If you are interested in meeting Kelsey, please sign up here - and if fewer than 4 people sign up I will just extend the meeting time for those who did sign up.
