PDRI Conference on Climate Change & the Environment
PDRI is inviting paper submissions for an online conference that will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022.
The conference will explore socio-economic and behavioral aspects of climate change and the environment in low- and middle-income countries. We are interested in theoretical and empirical papers that provide rigorous and original analyses addressing questions of scientific and policy importance. We particularly encourage submissions on the following topics:
- The impacts of changes in climate and the environment on well-being, income, health, migration, and other socio-economic outcomes.
- Adaptation measures to increase resilience to climate change and minimize the impact of environmental crises.
- Behavioral interventions and policy measures to reduce local environmental damages.
This conference seeks to bring together social scientists to share and discuss cutting-edge research on climate change. We invite submissions on the themes above from scholars in the fields of economics, public policy, political science, and other quantitative disciplines. The conference will include presentations of papers, discussant feedback, and audience Q&A.
Information for scholars
Interested scholars should submit a paper draft using the form below by March 15, 2022. Accepted submissions will be notified by April 12, 2021.
Authors may submit a two-page abstract instead of a paper. However, a full paper draft must be shared by May 1, 2022.
Submissions from PhD students and others not in tenure-track positions are welcomed. We particularly encourage submissions from scholars based in low- and middle-income countries.
