Stenseke, Marie
Marie Stenseke is a full professor in human geography. She leads the research group Nature-society relations in a landscape perspective, at the Human Geography Unit. Stenseke has been involved in many national and international research projects and programs and engages with knowledge communication through various special commissions on regional, national, and international levels.
Research interest
Marie Stenseke's research concerns biodiversity, nature conservation and landscape management, and public participation from a social science perspective. She has done extensive research on nature-based outdoor recreation. Stenseke has also been engaged with framing and concepts regarding human interactions with the rest of nature.
Mentoring
Stenseke has supervised six Ph.D. students that have completed their thesis. She has participated in more than 30 Ph.D. committées in more than 10 different disciplines in Sweden and elsewhere.
