Onyia, Chukwuemeka Chiebonam

Chukwuemeka Chiebonam Onyia is an EFD Research Fellow. He has a Master’s (2015) and a Ph.D (2020) in Resource and Environmental Economics from the University of Nigeria Nsukka. He is a lecturer of Agricultural Economics University of Nigeria Nsukka.

Research interests

Chukwuemeka’s main research areas are Environment and Resource Economics. He has analysed the role of natural resources in ensuring the livelihoods of households. He has also looked at farmers utilization of renewable energy sources from agricultural wastes. In this their willingness to participate and preferred choices were ascertained. He is currently involved in studies on coping and adaptation strategies to flooding by farmers using weather-index insurance.
