Nwosu, O. Emmanuel
Emmanuel O. Nwosu has been a Professor at the Department of Economics, University of Nigeria since October 2021 and was the Head of the Department of Economics from August 2020 to July 2022. He has been a member of AGRODEP since 2013, a researcher at the African Economic Research Consortium, the Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP) and affiliated with J-PAL, CEGA and DIWA. He was a visiting scholar at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Washington D.C. and a Technical Assistant in the Office of the Honourable Minister of Finance and CME. He holds a Master’s degree in Economic Policy Management from the University of Tsukuba, Japan and a PhD in Economics. He has conducted several funded research and published many articles in well-indexed journals indexed. His areas of research interest include environmental economics, impact evaluation, child and maternal health, labour market, gender, poverty and income distribution.

Mentoring
Emmanuel has graduated 3 PhD students and over 15 Master’s students. He is currently supervising 8 Master’s and 6 PhD degree students. He has mentored staff and guided both staff students in choosing their career paths and conducting quality research.
