Ndambiri, Hilary
Dr. Hilary Ndambiri is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics at Moi University in Eldoret, Kenya. He specializes in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics, focusing on areas such as climate change adaptation and mitigation, climate-smart agriculture, and natural resource management, including water, forests, energy, marine ecosystems, wildlife, and fisheries. His expertise also extends to general equilibrium modeling, poverty analysis, business development services, and the monitoring and impact evaluation of programs. Dr. Ndambiri earned his PhD in Environmental Economics through a collaborative program between the University of Pretoria in South Africa and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in the Netherlands. His doctoral research focused on the economic valuation of air quality in Kenya. In addition to his teaching and research roles, Dr. Ndambiri is a Research Fellow at the Environment for Development (EfD) initiative, where he serves as the Theme Leader for Environmental Pollution. His work at EfD involves research on environmental pollution management, natural resource accounts, environmental sustainability, and governance. Dr. Ndambiri has contributed to over 15 publications in his field. Notable among these is his study on the determinants of economic growth in Sub-Saharan Africa, which employs a panel data approach to analyze various influencing factors. His research has significantly advanced understanding in environmental economics, particularly in the context of Kenya and Sub-Saharan Africa.
