Short Bio
María A. Naranjo is a researcher for Green Economy and Land Use at Wageningen Economic Research, with experience in management and the implementation of research projects. She is also an International Research Fellow of the Environment for Development Initiative and part of the Women in Environmental Economics for Development (WinEED). María completed her Ph.D. studies at the Development Economics Group at Wageningen University. Her research focus is on understanding individual preferences and farm-level decisions via survey tools and the implementation of lab-in-the-field experiments. She holds a master's degree in Environmental Economics and Natural Resources and worked on related topics, including voluntary environmental programs management and funding of natural protected areas, nature-inclusive agriculture, and farmers’ and workers’ living income.
Research focus
Understanding collective and individual farm-level decisions by implementing surveys, lab-in-the-field experiments and agent-based models.
