Munnings, Clayton
Clayton Munnings is a Research Associate at Resources for the Future where he leads analysis on the domestic and international use of market based mechanisms to mitigate carbon emissions. His research focuses on ex-ante design evaluations and ex-post economic assessments of carbon prices, carbon offset protocols, and linkages between carbon markets. He has studied linkage of carbon trading markets, the design of China’s pilot carbon trading markets and the performance of offset projects under the Clean Development Mechanism that destroy HFC-23.
Ongoing work:
- Assessing the net emissions impact of fluoroform (HFC-23) offsets under the Clean Development Mechanism.
- Investigating the trend of pricing carbon emissions associated with consumption of goods.
- Comparing options for regulating fugitive methane emissions from the natural gas sector in the United States.
