Mahajan , Kanika
Kanika Mahajan is an Associate Professor of Economics at Ashoka University, Sonepat, India. Previously, she has taught at the School of Liberal Studies, Ambedkar University, Delhi. She completed her PhD in Quantitative Economics from the Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi in 2015.
Research Interests
Her primary research interests include empirical development economics in the field of gender, labor, agriculture, and distributional consequences of economic growth. As part of her current research agenda on gender and labor, she is working on issues around the stagnation of women's labor force participation in India - exploring both the supply side and the demand side linkages using data from digital platforms as well as secondary household and firm data. Her other ongoing research examines the growth and resilience of firms in India and its implications for labor, capital and trade.
