Ifeonu, Chidinma Frances

 

Chidinma Frances Ifeonu, is a Research Fellow at the Resource and Environmental Policy Research Centre (REPRC), Environment for Development (EfD), University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She obtained her professional training at the University of Nigeria Nsukka where she graduated with a Bachelor of Agriculture in Agricultural Extension in 2015 and a Master’s degree in Agricultural Extension Development Communication in 2020. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree at the University of Nigeria Nsukka.

Chidimma is currently a Research Assistant on two projects, namely, “Sustainable Management of Marine Resources Research” Project and “Coping with Water Scarcity, Preference and Willingness to Pay for Water Supply in Enugu State”, under the Resource and Environmental Policy Research Centre (REPRC), Environment for Development (EfD), Nigeria since 2019. She has facilitated research works on food safety, food security, hygiene practices, effective agricultural communication channels, and Opinion Poll Rating of the Nigerian Communications Commission.

Chidinma also facilitated the socio-economic studies and field data collection on the Resettlement Action Plans (RAPs) and Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs) fordifferent Erosion Sites in Kogi State under the Kogi State-Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (KSG-NEWMAP), (IBRD/ IDA Financed Project) between 2017 and 2021.

Miss Ifeonu has attended various international training on the use of different research tools for data collection and analysis such as KoBo Toolbox, Global Open Data Management in Agriculture and Nutrition (GODAN), R programming language, Discrete Choice Analysis, STATA, NGENE, Impact Evaluation and Causal Inference for Environment and Development Interventions, among others.

Research interests 

Ifeonu’s research interest is in the areas of effective agricultural communication platforms; natural resources management; rural studies, ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) / nature-based solutions (NbS) to climate change adaptation and food security. She has attended over fifteen (15) international conferences/ workshops and has nine (9) international scholarly publications to her credit. She is also a member of the Agricultural Extension Society of Nigeria (AESON) and the Nigerian Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (NIFAAS).
