Chah, Jane Mbolle
Jane Mbolle Chah is a Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Extension, University of Nigeria Nsukka. She has a Masters degree (2001) and Ph.D (2009) in Agricultural Extension from the University of Nigeria.
Research interest
Jane’s major research interest is in climate change, rural livelihoods, rural development, gender studies, migration, agricultural innovation and poverty. Jane has worked extensively with rural communities of diverse cultures. However, gender inequality observed in farm communities in the rural areas and massive rural-urban migration of youths, informed her current research interest in gender issues and migration as these affects agricultural productivity and increase poverty in the rural areas of her country.
Mentoring
Jane has monitored over 8 masters degrees students and over 30 undergraduates. Participating in university committees including postgraduate committees for Ph.D synopsis consideration and Ph.D defense.
