Barrero Amortegui, Yady Marcela
Yady Marcela Barrero-Amortegui is a Master of Science in Economics from Universidad de Antioquia (2008) and a Ph.D. in Economics from Universidad de Los Andes (2019). Since 2021 she is an Assistant professor and Researcher at Economic Department at Universidad de Antioquia in Medellin and currently, she is the Academic Coordinator of the Master’s in Economics at Universidad de Antioquia.
Research interests
Yady is an enthusiast about behavioral topics, natural resources, and gender analysis. Her specific research interests are social dilemmas in common pool resources and the role of rural women. She has experience in running framed field experiments and applying behavioral tools to understand the cooperation and sustainability of natural resources. She is currently involved in research on the impacts of rural program development in Colombia.
Mentorship
Yady has participated as a referee of three theses for undergraduates in Economics, two M.Sc. in Public Policy, and one M.Sc. in Economic Sciences.
