The effect of improved biomass cook-stoves on indoor air pollution and respiratory health in rural Ethiopia

The Environment and Climate Research Center (ECRC) of the Ethiopian Development Research Institute (EDRI) organized a half-day research project launch workshop on “The effects of improved biomass cook-stoves on indoor air pollution and respiratory health in rural Ethiopia”.

The research project to be launched is a continuation of a recently completed project which analyzed the behavior of a sample of households including frequency and duration of use of “Mirt” biomass cook-stove that had been distributed to them under different terms as part of an experiment. The objective of the workshop is, therefore, to inform participants of the results of the completed project and receive feedback for the project that is to be launched. The research project is conducted in collaboration with Portland State University (USA) and is sponsored by the World Bank.
