On July 5, 2022, ECRC(EfD-Ethiopia) conducted a stakeholder survey workshop as part of the Capacity Development Programme on Inclusive Green Economy (IGE) in Practice for senior civil servants and policymakers. A total of 41 experts participated in the workshop representing relevant institutions. The participants were clustered into three groups (fossil fuels, Forest loss, and plastic pollution) for the survey purposes to respond to the research questions. After the survey, participants were asked to reflect on their perception of the content of the study and the nature of the survey. During the workshop participants discussed different policy instruments on fossil fuel, forest loss, and plastic pollution as parts of a stakeholder’s survey on social acceptance. This exercise also helped the IGE fellows to understand the importance of considering the economic, environmental, and social implications in the development of different types of policy instruments as part of their training program.
The participants of the survey include the Government, local and international NGOs, academic institutions, professional associations, youth associations, plastic producers, and Petroleum enterprises.
