The support from Sida to EfD in 2018 is growing. The new agreement constitutes an increase of 30% of the original budget of MSEK 133, i.e. an additional MSEK 38.6. More than half of this will go to a new collaborative marine program that will involve at least 10 EfD centers and which will be led by Håkan Eggert.
Other activities include (i) a strong support to the WCERE 2018 in June . Sida will support two summer courses, a pre-conference and participation in the WCERE of up to 90 scholars from the Global South, (ii) doubling of the support to Policy Interaction and Communication activities at the EfD centers, (iii) a new position at the secretariat to support institutional development at the EfD centers, (iv) a continuation of the forestry collaborative and (v) a special investment in supporting the management of primary data collected by EfD-funds.
