Yoder, Elizabeth

Biz Yoder is a Ph.D. student in environmental policy with an economics concentration at Duke University. She received her B.A. in physics from Colgate University in 2015 and M.S. in energy engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2019. Prior to coming to Duke, Biz worked for various companies in Uganda, doing work ranging from starting and managing the data team for a mini-grid company to building renewable generators. Her past research has focused on predicting demand patterns for unelectrified populations in East Africa. At Duke, Biz studies energy modeling and electricity consumption behavior in the U.S., Vietnam, and South Africa to inform policymaking. She is excited to bring an engineering lens to international energy policy research.
