Thuy, Pham
Pham Thi Thanh Thuy is an Associate Professor at the Norwegian College of Fishery Science, Faculty of Biosciences, Fisheries and Economics, UiT The Arctic University of Norway since 2021. She received her PhD in Environmental and Resource Economics from the University of Tromsø in Norway in 2013. Prior to her current position, she was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the same faculty from 2017 to 2021, and a Lecturer and Researcher at Nha Trang University in Vietnam from 2004 to 2021. She also served as a Program Coordinator for the NORHED master program in Marine Ecosystem-based Management and Climate Change in Nha Trang, Vietnam from 2014 to 2017.
Research interests
Dr. Thuy Pham's research interests include environmental and resource economics, with a focus on fisheries and aquaculture. Her work often involves the application of economic principles to address issues related to the sustainable management of marine resources and the impacts of climate change. She has been involved in numerous granted projects, including projects funded by Norad, NFR, EU Horizon 2020, and the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development in Vietnam. These projects cover a range of topics such as ecosystem-based management of coastal marine resources, assessing risks to the Barents Sea ecosystem, aquaculture, and the impacts of subsidy policies on fisheries in Vietnam.
Awards
Thuy Pham received an honorable mention for the Best Student Paper award at the 2012 IIFET conference in Tanzania. She also received several outstanding student awards from the University of Fisheries, Vietnam.
