Sarr, Mare

Mare Sarr is currently a lecturer in the School of Economics at the University of Cape Town and a research fellow of the Environmental Policy Research Unit (EPRU).

His current teaching areas are Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Growth, and Environmental and Resource Economics.

He received his Ph.D. from University College London in November 2008. His Ph.D. thesis is titled "Essays on Institutions and Resources."

Mare’s current research interests include: The Political Dimension of the Curse of Natural Resources; Intellectual Property Rights and North-South Relationships in the Life Sciences Industries; Bioersity Conservation in relation to Traditional Knowledge and Bio-prospecting; Africa-China Relations.
