Riquelme , Juan Andrés

Andrés Riquelme is an assistant professor at the School of Economics and Business of the University of Talca. He got his Ph.D. in Economics at North Carolina State University (USA). He is also Master in Economics of the same institution and Master in Natural Resources and Environmental Economics, and Commercial Engineer from the University of Concepción, Chile. His current research focuses in high dimensional econometrics and computational econometrics. The first line is dedicated to the model selection problem with a divergent number of variables, with emphasis in spatially correlated data. The second line focuses on the development of computational tools for the solution of applied econometric problems. Other development areas re  the estimation of smooth transition autoregressive models, classification methods and bioeconomic computational modeling. His research has been published in journals including the Journal of Bussiness and Economic Statistics, Econometric Reviews, The Stata Journal and American Journal of Agricultural Economics.
