Opiyo, Silvanus
Silvanus Opiyo received his B. Economics and Master of Economics (Econometrics) degrees at the School of Economics, Kenyatta University, in 2012 and 2018 respectively. He has also undergone various professional trainings in policy research, Economic modelling and data analysis among others. In addition, he is a CPA II holder and a student of diploma in project management at Kenya Institute of Management. Silvanus served as a visiting lecturer of Economics in Machakos University and Moi University and in Taita Taveta University (TTU) where he was until October 2020 when he joined KIPPRA as a Policy Analyst (Young Professional) in the Macroeconomics department. In October 2021 to date, he rejoined TTU as a Teaching Assistant in the School of Business, Economics & Social Sciences (Department of Economics). He has also held other positions such as research field officer, research associate and consultant among others. His research interests cover areas of applied Micro econometrics & Macro econometrics and applied statistics with specific areas being Agricultural Economics, International Trade, Labor Economics, Behavioral Economics and Performance (Growth, Efficiency & productivity analysis as well as Impact Evaluation) and generally Applied Microeconomics and Macroeconomics.
