Macha, Doris Edmund

Doris E. Macha is a Junior Research fellow at EfD Tanzania and an assistant lecturer at the Department of Applied Economics, University of Dar es salaam. Her research interest agricultural & food economics, gender economics, development economics, environmental & resource economics, behavioral and experimental economics.

Doris Macha investigates how gendered differences in household decision-making impacts food security. She analyzes how decisions made by husband, wife and joint (husband and wife) affect the household’s nutritional outcomes. Currently, she is examining the gendered effect of food price variability on consumption of nutritious foods and diets. Doris obtained her M.A. in Economics and B.A. in Economics and statistics from the University of Dar es salaam.
