Research interests
David’s published and ongoing work deals with the economic evaluation of environmental policies and problems. Exploiting experimental and observational data, David has analyzed the performance, impact, and public acceptance of transferable permits, low carbon fuel standards, taxes, subsidies, green labeling, and urban development. In his research, David also analyzed the long-term relationship between global temperature and sea level, as well as the short-term impacts from temperature shocks on firms’ credit performance. As part of his research agenda, David has also estimated the economic value of pollution in Mexico City, identified the causes of deforestation, and evaluated the impact of communication strategies to modify behaviors that damage the environment and health.
