Guerrero, Isabel

Isabel Guerrero Ochoa is an Assistant Proffesor at the Department of Economics of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). She has a Master´s (2012) and a Ph.D. (2021) in Applied Economics with concentrations on Environmental and Resources Economics and Development Economics from Oregon State University (OSU).

Research interest

Isabel´s main research areas are Resource and Development Economics. Her main research topic consists on prioritizing conservation efforts for agrobiodiversity conservation in Andean landscapes, paying special attention to the role of cultural practices in potential conservation policies. Her research seeks to examine effectiveness of current policies and to understand the impact of these policies on conservation and development objectives through its impact on human decisions. She uses a variety of quantitative tools to answer policy-relevant questions, including optimization methods (static and dynamic), simulations, and institutional frameworks.
