Eggert, Håkan
Håkan Eggert is an Associate professor at the Department of Economics and Chairman of the undergraduate environmental social science program at the University of Gothenburg. He has been a visiting professor and a resident advisor at EfD Tanzania, University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM). He is currently the principal researcher and scientific advisor of the Collaborative EfD program Blue Resources for Development. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Gothenburg in 2001 and became Associate Professor in 2007.
Research interests
Håkan´s research areas are environmental and resource economics and their interface with development economics. His research often looks at various aspects of utilizing and managing aquatic resources. Recent work deals with marine plastic pollution, management of capture fisheries, and development of sustainable aquaculture.
Mentoring
Supervisor of 10 Ph.D. theses in Economics and many master's- and undergraduate theses. Discussant and/or Member of Exam Committee for more than 20 Ph.D. theses in Economics or adjacent disciplines.
