Castañeda Rodríguez, Brigitte
Brigitte Castañeda Rodríguez is a PhD candidate in Economics at Universidad de los Andes, with a background in both economics and petroleum engineering. Her research focuses on the impacts of carbon pricing policies and the just energy transition from a macroeconomic perspective, complemented by econometric analysis. With extensive experience in Latin America, Brigitte brings a Global South perspective to climate policy discussions. She has worked as a consultant on key projects for the region, analyzing the fiscal effects of the energy transition, structural change, and the acceptability of climate policies, collaborating with institutions such as the CFS, the CREE, the World Bank, and the Environmental Defense Fund, among others. She is currently part of the UNEP-GGGI mentorship program on the implementation of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and collaborates with the Center for Sustainable Development Goals (CODS) for Latin America and the Caribbean.
