Bonilla, Jorge Alexander

Jorge Alexander Bonilla is Senior Research Fellow and Director of EfD Colombia. He is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics at Universidad de Los Andes. He holds a PhD in Economics from University of Gothenburg (2013). 

Research interests 

He specializes in environmental policy instruments with a focus on externalities, air pollution and impact evaluation using applied econometrics. In his recent work he analyzes the impact of transport policies on congestion and air pollution and the synergies and tradeoffs between abatement of global and local pollution. 

Mentoring 

He has mentored several bachellor students (10), master students (3), PhD students (1). 

Grants and consultancy 

Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) for a project in air pollution and inequality. 

Policy engagement 

Currently he belongs to an expert board in theme of Air Pollution. The board is coordinated by the Secretary of Environment (Bogotá).
