Akuma, Gemeda Olani
Gemeda Olani Akuma is a Research Assistant at the Environment for Development. He has been pursuing his PhD in Economics at Addis Ababa University in collaboration with the University of Gothenburg under the Sida bilateral support program.
Research interests
Gemeda's primary research areas include development economics, environment, sustainable land use, Agri-Tech, forestry, food security, and climate resilience. He is currently analyzing the impact of conservation technologies on productivity. Additionally, he is studying the effectiveness of social protection programs in climate change adaptation, the role of village networks, and land cover dynamics in mitigating weather shocks in rural areas within the context of developing economies.
