Pattanayak, Subhrendu
Subhrendu K. Pattanayak is Professor at the Sanford School of Public Policy, and has secondary appointment in the Duke Global Health Institute, the Nicholas School of the Environment, and the Department of Economics. He serves as the Co-Director for the Sustainable Energy Transitions Initiative (SETI).
He studies the causes and consequences of human behaviors related to the natural environment to help design and evaluate policy interventions in low income tropical countries. He has collaborated closely with multi-lateral agencies, NGOs, governments, and local academics in Brazil, Costa Rica, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the U.S. Professor Pattanayak is also a faculty fellow of the South Asian Network of Development and Environmental Economists (SANDEE).
