Development needs to be green and incusive

EfD is co-hosting The Fourth Green Growth Knowledge Platform (GGKP) Annual Conference  in Jeju Island, Republic of Korea with the focus theme “Transforming Development through Inclusive Green Growth”, September 6-7

EfD researchers have a strong presence in this year´s conference program on various topics.  During Monday September 6th, Gunnar Köhlin, the EfD Director was part of a panel to discuss “The Role of Collaboration and Knowledge in Scaling Inclusive Green Growth.”

Other EfD research fellows will be presenting in sessions on : Exploring the Climate Change and Poverty Nexus (Dr. Hailemariam Teklewold),  Ensuring  Gender-Balanced Participation and Empowerment (Byela Tibesigwa), Promoting Green Cities (Haileselassie Medhin) and finally Edwin Muchapondwa will be part of the panel discussion Linking knowledge-sharing, research and policy-making for inclusive green growth.

Through a mix of 26 plenary debates, parallel sessions and keynotes addresses, participants will explore innovative solutions to promote pro-poor, inclusive green growth. Sessions will address key challenges faced in ensuring green growth is inclusive, including around strategy and policy, inclusive business and finance, participation and empowerment, as well as sector focuses on cities, energy and water.

The Fourth GGKP Annual Conference provides a key opportunity for leading governments, organizations and experts to come together to identify, discuss, and debate the latest research and policy solutions. In particular, the discussions will explore how to ensure the pursuit of green growth is equitable and inclusive.

This year’s conference is being hosted by GGGI and forms a major part of the Global Green Growth Week 2016 (#GGGWeek2016) September  5-9 2016, Jeju Island, Republic of Korea. Find the detailed conference program here
