Areas of Contribution

  • EfD-Kenya’s research focuses mainly on the following themes; Agriculture & Climate Change, Health, Water, Forestry, Extractives industries & Energy. Poverty alleviation is a recurring goal while observing an equality perspective.

Affiliation

EfD-Kenya is currently housed at the University of Nairobi, Department of Economics, and Development Studies since January 2012.  The center was previously hosted at the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA), from its inception in 2007 to 2011. It is a networked center that engages researchers from various universities and research organizations in Kenya such as; University of Nairobi, Moi University, Strathmore University, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenyatta University, Chuka University, Taita Taveta University, World Bank Group, International Potato Center, African Economic Research Consortium, Uwezo Agenda, Loughborough University, African Population and Health Research Center, State Department for Devolution, Partnership for Economic Policy, Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company, The National Environment Management Authority, University of Washington, University of North Carolina, Stanford University, and Center for Economic Research and Graduate Education - Economics Institute and therefore generates well thought environmental policies in research.
