Francisco Alpízar is Senior Researcher and former Director of Research at the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE) in Costa Rica. He is also a Senior Research Fellow of the Environment for Development Initiative. His research explores incentive based approaches to improve private and public management and use of natural resource.
César Salazar is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Economics and Business (Facultad de Ciencias Empresariales (FACE)) at the Universidad del Bío-Bío. He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
Håkan Eggert is Associate professor at the Department of Economics and Chairman of the undergraduate environmental social science program and of the masters program in environmental management and economics at the University of Gothenburg. He has been resident advisor at EfD Tanzania, University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM).
Byela Tibesigwa is a senior research fellow. She holds a PhD Economics from the University of Cape Town; and MA and BA Economics from the University of Botswana. Her current research work focuses on ecosystem services, climate change and agriculture and their interaction on poverty, well-being and gender inequalities in developing countries.
Jorge Marco Renau is a Postdoc Research Associate in the Department of Economics at University of Los Andes. He studied Environmental Sciences at University of Valencia (UVEG, Spain) and Mathematical Modeling at University Autonomous of Barcelona (UAB, Spain). He holds a PhD in Economics from University of Girona (Spain).
Reza Che Daniels is Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Cape Town. Before working in academia he ran his own consulting company and has worked with trade unions, the public sector, the private sector and with civil society more generally.
Thong Quoc Ho is a postdoc research fellow of the Center for Environment for Development in Vietnam (EfD-Vietnam), Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (UEH). Thong graduated from the School of Economics and Finance, Queensland University of Technology, Australia in 2018 and received a masters’ degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, USA in 2011.
Zihan Nie is currently a postdoc researcher at the Department of Economics, University of Gothenburg. His fields of interest are development economics, environmental economics and behavorial economics. Before joining University of Gothenburg, he received his PhD degree at Wageningen University in 2018.
Shilei Liu received his PhD in Economics from National School of Development, Peking University, in 2018. He is currently an postdoctoral researcher in NSD. As a research fellow of EfD China, he mainly works on the marine program, including ocean pollution and management, seafood production, etc.
Gracia Lanza is a postdoctoral fellow with specialization on environmental and resource economics. She received her PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Göttingen, Germany and her M.Sc. degree on Environmental Sciences from Wageningen University and Research Center, The Netherlands.
Shivani Wadehra is a visiting Assistant Professor in the Economics and Planning unit, Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Delhi. Prior to this, she was an Associate Fellow in The Energy and Resources Institute. Her research interests include environmental economics. Her doctoral research primarily studies the determinants to waste segregation at source.
