Researching Refills: Resources and Relationships required for Sustaining LPG Access in Rural India

This study is an EfD-SETI collaborative research on Energy program. This project studies barriers faced by families in sustaining improved energy access, by carefully studying LPG refills in India. The study seeks to know how low-income families mobilize material, financial, social, cultural, and economic resources and relations to access LPG refills and how various factors affect their ability to do so. This project is timely as it coincides with the recent launch of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, an ambitious energy program launched by the Indian national government to provide LPG access to low-income families. The research aims to generate insights for the national program in its future implementation.
