This project evaluates the effect of the intensity of fuelwood use on the prevalence of cardio-respiratory diseases in Chile. By comparing the levels of PM10 and PM2.5 across Chilean communes that are environmentally saturated, we will evaluate the extent to which fuelwood use explain the prevalence of cardio-respiratory diseases, and how this relation changes when considering communes with other sources of pollution such as mining, industry and transport.
