The Resource and Environmental Policy Research Centre (REPRC), Environment for Development (EfD) Nigeria, University of Nigeria, Nsukka will be hosting a 2020 Policy Day Event on the theme:  "Climate Smart Agriculture Practices for Food Security and Climate Change Mitigation".   The event would be hosted in collaboration with the Gender and Development Policy Centre (GEN-CENT), University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

Time: 11:00 hours (Abuja time).

Venue: University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Enugu, Nigeria.

   

The seminar will bring together some key actors including policy makers, leading experts, Commissioners of Agriculture, Environment, Women Affairs and Gender Desks from the South-Eastern States, Chairmen, House Committees on Agriculture from the South-East region, members of the civil society organisations as well as leaders of Farmers Associations and practitioners, to brainstorm on the policy options for facilitating Climate Smart Agricultural Practices for Food Security and Climate Change Mitigation           .

The Policy Day outreach will feature presentations of major research findings on "Climate Smart Agricultural Practices for Food Security and Climate Change Mitigation".  It is expected that the outcome of the presentations and discussions would form a policy brief that will guide the Ministries of Agriculture in the South East to develop smart agricultural practices that adapt to changing climate conditions.
