Vision

To improve the well-being of disadvantaged groups in developing countries by mitigating excessive pollution and natural resource depletion, and to promote sustainable use of natural resources and ecosystem services by means of environmental policy instruments. This objective will be actively pursued with vibrant research, policy informing and capacity building activities.

Areas of contribution

EfD China mostly focuses on issues closely related to environmental protection and rural development, including forestry policy, climate change, the performance of pollution abatement policies, the correlation between urban transport and the environment, the evolution of China’s economy and energy structures, and individual and household behaviour in rural areas

Affiliation

Since 2018, EfD China has been formally housed at a research centre named as China Centre for Environmental and Energy Economics (C2E3), affiliated with the National School of Development, Peking University (NSD, PKU). The center located in the campus of Peking University, Beijing, China.
