Dr. Chen, Shuai is currently appointed as an Assistant Professor at the School of Public Affairs and China Academy of Rural Development in Zhejiang University (ZJU). His broad disciplinary field is Applied Economics where he works on topics in Agricultural Economics, Resource and Environmental Economics, and Applied Econometrics. His research interests include climate change and agriculture, air pollution, and human migration.
Dr. Chen’s papers have been published in many academic journals, including Journal of Environmental Economics and Management (JEEM 2016; 2018), Journal of Economic Geography (JEG 2020), Land Economics (2020), Climatic Change (2016), and Australian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics (AJARE 2018). His latest working paper hangs on the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER 2017; 2018). Before joining ZJU, Dr. Chen studied and worked in Peking University, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, and the Environmental for Development (EfD) in China/EEPC. He has received multiple awards for research and teaching achievements, including the Advanced Workers of Zhejiang University (2019), the Excellent Moral Education Tutor of Zhejiang University (2019), and the Outstanding Postdoc Researcher of Peking University (2016).
