Dr. Amuakwa-Mensah is the EfD Research Manager, responsible for administrating the EfD research fund and in collaboration with the Research Committee review submitted research proposals, research deliverables and submissions for EfD discussion paper series by researchers in the network.

His former position was as a post-doctoral researcher at the department of economics at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and European Investment Bank (EIB)-Global Development Network (GDN) research fellow in applied development finance for the 2018/2019 cohort. He holds a PhD degree in economics from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, a master of philosophy degree in economics and a bachelor’s degree in economics with mathematics, all from University of Ghana. His primary research interest is in the areas of environmental and natural resource economics, development economics, and agricultural and food economics. His research is empirical in nature with applied econometric methods. In the area of environmental and natural resource economics, his research activities hinge on energy, climate change and natural resource (forestry and mining)) economics.
