The inaugural AERE Summer Conference is held in Seattle, June 9-10, 2010. The conference will be an annual event (except for World Congress years) and will be larger in scope than has been the AERE Workshop in previous years. It will, however, retain many features of the workshop that have helped make it such a success throughout the years.

2010 African Economic Conference, Tunis, Tunisia, November 10-12, 2010 The 2010 Conference is organized around the theme: “Setting the agenda for Africa’s Economic Recovery and Long-term Growth”. The Conference comprises plenary sessions with keynote presentations, followed by several break-out sessions. These sessions are complemented by a Round Table Discussion that seeks to articulate the key elements of the debate on the Conference theme which is discussed from the perspectives of the different tiers of participants.
Conference papers will address economic analysis of the broad issues relevant for economic development in Africa. The conference will consist of parallel sessions, with two plenary sessions. 21st - 23rd March 2010, St Catherine's College, Oxford, Great Britain
The UNEP FI Global Roundtable has set the global agenda for sustainable finance over the years. As it travels across continents, this biennial event attracts hundreds of professionals from the global financial sector and its many stakeholders in the public and private domains, including governments, civil society and academia. EfD/EPRU researchers Kerri Brick, Stephanie Giamporcaro and Martine Visser will assist to this major event.
EfD in Ethiopia will be represented in Growth Week, 22 - 25 September 2009. Dr Alemu Mekonnen, Coordinator of EEPFE (EfD in Ethiopia) will be presenting a paper on this annual international conference. Dr Tekie Alemu will also be participating in the conference.

The Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi, invites researchers to submit papers for the 5th Annual Conference on Economic Growth and Development. 16-18 December in New Delhi, India.
EfD in Ethiopia will be represented in the 27th Conference of the International Association of Agricultural Economists (IAAE). Dr Zenebe Gebreegziabher will be presenting a paper entitled "Institutions and Sustainable Land Use: the Case of Forest and Grazing Lands in Northern Ethiopia" at the conference. The theme of the conference is "The Global Landscape of Agriculture".
Respondents to this invitation are asked by no later than 27 July 2009 to submit an abstract of a maximum of 500 words on a topic in the general realm of the role of economic instruments in mitigating climate change in South Africa.
EfD in Ethiopia will be represented in the upcoming Annual Conference of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE) and Dr Alemu Meknonned will present a paper on the Conference to be held 24 - 27 June 2009 in the Netherlands.

EfD/EPRU Dr Stephanie Giamporcaro will present two papers at the 15th annual conference of the International Sustainable Development Research Society hosted by the Copernicus Institute for Sustainable Development and Innovation, Utrecht University, Netherlands, July 5-8, 2009.
Maurice Ogada Juma has been invited to present a paper on 'Farm Technology Adoption, Productivity and Management of Risk in Rain-fed Maize Procuction in Semi-Arid Lands of Kenya' at the Nordic Conference on Development Economics NCDE, on the 18-19th of June, 2009 in Oslo, Norway.
