Miaoying Shi

Miaoying Shi currently is a postdoctoral research fellow in Peking University. Graduated from the College of Agricultural and Natural Resources, Michigan State University, Miaoying Shi has had a certain exposure to the fields of natural resource economics, natural resource systems modeling, environmental economics, etc. Meanwhile, as a research member in the Center for Global Change and Earth Observations, She has acquired hands-on experiences working with satellite image interpretation and spatial data analysis. With this interdisciplinary background, she is interested in exploring and analyzing the linkages between environmental processes and socioeconomic changes.  A central theme of her research is to integrate information from various sources (spatial and non-spatial data from remote sensing, GIS, and statistical sources, etc.) for modeling the changing ecosystem components and systems.
