The 2011 Conference on Development Economics and Policy will take place in Berlin, Germany from 24 ‐ 25 June 2011, hosted by the KfW Development Bank and the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin).

The keynote speeches will be delivered by Alan Winters (Sussex University and Chief Economist at DFID) and Eliana La Ferrara (Bocconi University, Italy)

Interested contributors are invited to submit an abstract (max 250 words) or a full paper (strongly preferred) by 28 February 2011 in a single PDF‐file using the online form.

Acceptance notes with detailed information will be sent out in the end of March 2011. The conference will start in the afternoon of 24 June 2011 with a keynote speech and a reception for all participants. All further presentations will scheduled on  the following day. The program will become available in early April.

A limited number of grants covering travel and accommodation cost might be awarded to authors from developing countries with excellent contributions. Those wishing to apply please indicate so using the online submission form.

Please note the call for the KfW Award 2011 for Policy-relevant Development Research which will be awarded during the conference (Deadline 1 March 2011). Proposals/ Nominations can be submitted by heads of academic chairs and research institutes.
